In this episode, we learn the story of Tim Battle. In 2003, Tim was the third-round draft pick of the New York Yankees. At 17, Tim was paid a $500,000 signing bonus, and his future seemed to be heading in only one direction – up. Shortly after reporting to rookie league, Tim was diagnosed with cancer. He battled back and had a successful minor league career. He never fulfilled his dream of making it to the major leagues but has no regrets as to his effort and determination. See more >
Get to Know the Host:
On August 14, 1981, Rod Cate broke his neck playing high school football, and in a split second life-changing neck injury, he went from rising star athlete to quadriplegic. Rod overcame his physical limitations and mental obstacles to walk again, refocus his life, excel in his chosen profession, and inspire others to overcome adversity and build their best life. In 2018, Rod wrote Get Back Up, detailing his life journey from a wheelchair to getting back up on his feet literally and never looking back. His book and this podcast are created to motivate others not to allow life’s sometimes devastating twists and turns ruin their quest for a great life.
Rod has been practicing law for 28 years and represents doctors and other health care providers in medical malpractice lawsuits. He is a partner with the law firm of Hand Arendall Harrison Sale. He has been named as a Best Lawyer in America. He has three grown children and lives with his wife in Spanish Fort, Alabama.
